Overwhelmed by circumstancesby Goal Setter on 19 Oct 2011 permalink
Have you got the impression that no matter what you do things simply don't budge? You can claim it, you can yell at it, you can wave your fist at the wall - nothing changes.
What about a different approach? What is standing in the way of you reaching your goal? Too much month at the end of the money? No place to live, hopping from friend to friend until you have overstayed your welcome? Are you bound to a wheelchair? When you are out in the dumps you meet two sorts of people: those who ignore you and those who are quite prepared to take advantage of you... What doesn't kill you will make you stronger. Bad things happen to good people for no fault of their own. When there is a will there is a way. Each one of us is equipped with some unique gifts which will ensure our survival. The challenge is to have a good look at what is in your hand and use it in a creative way. Don't try to copy someone else - instead write your own story. Admit to yourself that you are unique and that it will take the whole combination of abilities vested in you to get there. Taking a good inventory of your skills is not obvious. But then there are things you are passionate about. When you have fire in your belly you will pull it through. The right type of anger properly channelled, the right motivation about some issue that keeps you awake at night - that is the fuel for overcoming. Think about the great stories of jail escapees who nibbled away at rocks day in, day out on their way to freedom. To them failure was not an option. Do your research. Talk to people but don't let them pour cold water on your dream. Investigate and devise ways of doing it cheaper and quicker than others have done in the past. Be unique, be remarkable. Being average is bad in a competitive world. People applaud the number one but number two who worked just as hard gets ignored. Don't take it personally. Find something where you can be number one. Something just for you. Something that was waiting all along to be discovered by you. If you don't believe in yourself, who will? Maybe this is the challenge of your life. Maybe this is the reason you were born. Maybe this is your one chance of being somebody. What do you want to be remembered for? The one who overcame the circumstances - that's who!
