Recognizing Your Dreamsby Goal Setter on 13 Jul 2011 permalink
Are there certain issues that resonate with you? Are you offended, upset or otherwise motivated about a given cause? That might be your deep core aspiration - the one problem in your life you would like to solve for the betterment of mankind.
We each have our root values which motivate us to act. The challenge of a life well spent is to make your mark in society by doing the one thing you were created for. It is not going to happen by accident. For some it has cost blood, sweat and tears. For others it was a case of keeping your mouth shut and lying in wait until that once-in-a-lifetime opportunity came by. Your dream is your responsibility. You can enlist others to your cause but they might steal your dream. You can share your dream with peers and figures of authority but they might discredit you or pour down cold water on your deep aspirations. You need to translate your vision from the realm of day-dreaming to the realm of written-down documentation. A goal setting system is what you need. There could be several intertwined goals each with several milestones. Certain tasks cannot start until others are completed. Others could start anytime resources are available. While you are pining away at your chance for recognition, you can make good use of your time by doing your own research. Don't believe everything you find on the internet - go and check it out for yourself. Has anybody done something in that area before? What obstacles were uncovered? Are there any lobby groups with a vested interest for or against your cause? Is your dream something you can achieve by yourself? Can you do it part-time or do you need to quit your job? If so, where would your resources come from? Do you need to re-locate? Do you need to visit witnesses? Do you need to check archives? Do you need some statistics to substantiate your mission statement? Do you need suitable premises? Do you need to move interstate or overseas? Do you need equipment, a prototype, a group of volunteers? What does the legislation say about your issue? Is it banned in your country? Is it heavily regulated? Does it need some marketing? Do you need a website, a blog, a social media presence to spread the word? Is your dream big enough or would you be put off if people say: "So what?" do you need to keep quiet until you are being recognized for your achievements? Is it better to deliver the goods rather than ask for support prematurely? Do you believe enough in it yourself? Where is your faith?
